Being a finalist for the 2025 FP Awards — or even being a winner — is rewarding in itself, and for the expert feedback you receive.
In addition to national recognition, publicity and a customized plaque, the winner receives round-trip airfare, accommodation, and admission to the 2025 IAFP Annual Symposium in Nanaimo, B.C. (September 24–27, 2025).
This free trip gives the winner the chance to enjoy the Awards presentation in-person, at an event promoted and live-streamed across the country.
The Financial Planning Awards follow clear and transparent rules to ensure a fair competition.
These rules ensure the competition highlights the profession's highest values and standards.
Competitors must submit a detailed, redacted financial plan that showcases their expertise in client-focused, ethical planning. The first submission will be requested via a form sent to participants, and it will follow a pass/fail evaluation process.
Open to financial planners actively practising in Canada holding a recognized designation (QAFP, CFP, or R.F.P.).
Plans are evaluated by a panel of expert judges using standardized scoring criteria.
Every participant receives feedback for growth, with finalists getting an in-depth critique.
